Launch of The International Coalition <\/strong>\n Against <\/strong>Electronic Torture and <\/strong>\n Robotization of Living Beings <\/strong>\n (ICATOR)<\/strong>\n \n \n \n <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\n \n \n \n Wednesday July 29, 2020<\/strong><\/em>\n Greetings, everyone.  <\/strong>\n Today,\n we are announcing the launch of the International Coalition Against \nElectronic Torture and Robotization of Living Beings. headquartered in \nBrussels, Belgium.  It is a coalition of international TI groups who \nhave come together to address the issues of the TI community by joining \nthe United Nations as a non-governmental organization. <\/strong>\n We\n hope to also assist Magnus Olsson in his capacity as a liaison with the\n United Nations Rapporteur on Torture as well as work with the European \nParliament to pass legislation that would help the TI community in \nEurope.  Organizing a class-action lawsuit is also a goal.  <\/strong>\n Melanie\n Vritschan is the President and I serve as Vice-President.  Melanie’s \ninvitation letter to the world community of TI’s to join as members of \nICATOR is below.  <\/strong>\n \n \n \n <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n PREAMBLE<\/strong>\n  Article 1 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU<\/em> (2000) states that \u201cHuman dignity is<\/em> inviolable. It must be respected and protected<\/em>. <\/strong>\n  \n United Nations<\/strong>\n Universal Declaration of Human Rights<\/em><\/strong>\n  \n Article 1<\/strong>\n We Are All Born Free & Equal.<\/strong>\n We are all born free. We all have our own thoughts and ideas. We should all be treated in the same way.<\/strong>\n  \n Article 2<\/strong>\n Don\u2019t Discriminate.<\/strong>\n These rights belong to everybody, whatever our differences.<\/strong>\n  \n Article 3<\/strong>\n The Right to Life.<\/strong>\n We all have the right to life, and to live in freedom and safety.<\/strong>\n  \n Article 4<\/strong>\n No Slavery.<\/strong>\n Nobody has any right to make us a slave. We cannot make anyone our slave.<\/strong>\n  \n Article 5<\/strong>\n No Torture.<\/strong>\n Nobody has any right to hurt us or to torture us.<\/strong>\n                                                                                 <\/strong>\n Brussels, 28 July 2020<\/strong><\/em>\n Dear Human Rights Defender,
<\/strong>\n The International Coalition Against Electronic Torture and Robotization of Living Beings (ICATOR<\/em>)\n is a Brussels-based, registered not-for-profit association, committed \nto raising awareness and globally ending non-consensual experimentation \nusing remote influencing technologies and techniques on the human mind \nand body. We propose clear ethical and legally binding boundaries to \nregulate their use. Furthermore, the association demands that organized \nstalking be recognized as psychological torture and outlaw it as a \ncrime.<\/strong>\n As an international network, ICATOR acts as a lobbying and advocacy platform towards the European Union and the United Nations. <\/strong>

\n Using our international network of scientific and technology experts, \npartner civil and human rights organizations as well as important \nstakeholders in civil society, we provide consultancy services to \ninternational organizations and governments.<\/strong>\n Our\n main organizational goal is to impose a global ban on emerging \ntechnologies that cannot meet the standards enshrined in international \nhuman rights legal frameworks strictly prohibiting torture or inhuman or\n degrading treatment or punishment.
