September 21-22, UN Plaza, New York City<\/p>\n

On September 21-22, as world leaders assemble in New York for the annual opening of the United Nations, and to commemorate the 2001 Durban conference on racism and discrimination, an international coalition of non-governmental human rights organizations will hold a parallel summit across the street.<\/p>\n

This will be the premier human rights event at the UN in September.<\/p>\n

The goal of the Summit is to place situations of discrimination and persecution on the international agenda, uphold the UN’s founding principles of human rights and democracy and give a voice to the voiceless.<\/p>\n
