Global Summit Against Discrimination and Persecution
September 21-22, UN Plaza, New York City
On September 21-22, as world leaders assemble in New York for the annual opening of the United Nations, and to commemorate the 2001 Durban conference on racism and discrimination, an international coalition of non-governmental human rights organizations will hold a parallel summit across the street.
This will be the premier human rights event at the UN in September.
The goal of the Summit is to place situations of discrimination and persecution on the international agenda, uphold the UN’s founding principles of human rights and democracy and give a voice to the voiceless.
